Does IREX work with our existing cameras?
Yes. Reusing your current cameras is the standard deployment model — IREX adds AI across the cameras you already operate, from a single site to an entire city or country, without replacing hardware.
Do we keep ownership of our data?
Yes. Customers retain 100% ownership and control of their data; IREX neither owns nor accesses customer video, events, logs, or floor plans.
Can IREX run on our own servers?
Yes. IREX deploys as a private cloud on your own infrastructure — on-premises or fully offline — so data never leaves the network you control. An IREX-hosted option is available for smaller deployments.
How does IREX protect people’s privacy?
IREX identifies only pre-registered persons — wanted suspects, missing people, trafficking victims — and cannot recognize or track random individuals. These constraints are enforced in the platform architecture, and every facial-recognition search requires a Case ID referencing a lawful basis such as a court order.
How does IREX stay accountable?
Every high-risk action is bound to a mandatory Case ID and a non-erasable, tamper-evident audit trail — with human review, daily signed log exports, and access for independent oversight bodies.
Can IREX take action automatically?
No. Detections are signals for a person to verify; no response runs autonomously.
How accurate is the AI?
The IREX face recognition engine is trained on a proprietary 40-million-image dataset optimized for real-world CCTV, and was ranked #1 in accuracy among US companies — top 10 globally — in the 2021 NIST Face Recognition Vendor Test on the datasets closest to street-camera conditions.
